Highlights:
Immersive introduction to FFA traditions and opportunities
Interactive workshops on goal setting, leadership, and teamwork
Team-building and bonding activities with peers and advisors
Hands-on preparation for future involvement in FFA chapters
Katy ISD chapters, including Taylor FFA, participate in the Area III Greenhand Camp, giving students valuable experiences to grow as leaders and active members of FFA. Spots are limited, see your Ag teacher if interested in participating.
The FFA Jacket Ceremony is one of the most meaningful traditions in FFA. During this special presentation, first-year members receive their official blue corduroy jacket, a symbol of pride, unity, and commitment to the values of the FFA.
The ceremony highlights the importance of leadership, dedication, and agricultural education, while welcoming new members into the long-standing legacy of the FFA.
For many students, receiving their jacket is the moment they truly feel part of the organization and its future.
All students in order to earn a FFA Jacket must participate in two fundraising events a year, among a number of additional service related requirements, be a paid chapter member, etc. To learn more about the requirements to earn your jacket and the ceremony please reach out to your Ag teacher for additional information.
FFA offers students opportunities to grow beyond the classroom through state and national conferences, conventions, and leadership trips.
These experiences allow members to connect with fellow FFA students, industry leaders, and agricultural professionals from across Texas and the nation.
State Conferences
Students attend Texas FFA conventions and leadership conferences to build skills in leadership, teamwork, and advocacy while competing in career and leadership development events, in Fort Worth, Texas.
National Conferences
The National FFA Convention & Expo brings together thousands of members from across the country for workshops, competitions, keynote speakers, and career exploration. Students represent James E. Taylor FFA on a national stage and engage in unforgettable learning experiences.
Trips & Experiences
Members also have the chance to participate in educational trips and leadership tours, which combine hands-on agricultural learning, networking, and fun. Last year our team took students to Ireland.
These opportunities broaden horizons, strengthen leadership skills, and create lasting memories.
There are volunteer and sponsorship opportunities please reach out to us on how you can help support the students of the James E. Taylor FFA in continuing to be able to participate in these meaningful opportunities.
